Would that be fun, or what!? And it's only 15 MINUTES FROM MY WORK!
I don't know if I'm actually going, but it would be fun to put a face to some avatars. :) And no, I wouldn't actually debate. :P It would all be the same old **** anyway, only without the ability to reference BibleGateway.com or Wikipedia. I wonder who's actually personable in "real life." I know I am. *wink*
Since this HAS to be a question according to CG:
R%26amp;S members? Free food and drinks at an upscale restaurant? Would this be fun or what? :)
Yahoo! Answers Meetup!? Atheists vs. theists debate in the Washington D.C. area!?
little far for me funny-but it would be a cool time---enjoy the day
Reply:Hmm.. I could potentially go, although it is definitely a bit farther than 15 minutes away from me.. hehe. I'm in Columbus, Ohio.
Reply:I'm 3,000 miles away. I'll have to experience it vicariously.
Reply:I'm something like 16800km away (a bit over ten thousand miles for those of you still living in the dark ages). So I might not make it.
Reply:i sure wish I could go. I'd love to debate on evolution and why we speak so many different languages and why christianity is the only true religion and why global warming is garbage.... man I could debate it all.
Reply:Would be neat to meet a few of you, but I am not really up for debate...what's the point.
DC isn't exactly close to me either.
Reply:Interesting. I would go. Though I'd miss my costume that my avatar has.
In public I'm rather shy and a little introverted so you'd probably not recognize me. :(
Reply:Wow, that's amazing! To bad it's a million miles away.
Reply:I'm close enough to DC to go - I can drive there in six hours, but my job takes precedence.
Reply:Its about seven hours away, and I have no car.
But, i think if someone turned it into us ganging up on Y!A about the ..'report' issues - heck, ill walk.... and bring the tamatoes
Reply:No offense, but that would take all of the FUN out it ...!!!!
No thanks, sweet cheeks ...
:)
xoxox
:)
Reply:I will watch from the safety of the UK.
Reply:Well, the location would be alright (I live in the DC Metro area), but I'd be more inclined to attend if it was more family-oriented, so we could bring along our SO's and kids.
I think it would be more interesting to arrange, say, a day at the Natural History Museum on the Mall; and let the creationists try to explain away a building's worth of evidence in support of evolution...
Reply:If they had it in Detroit, I'd be there.
But D.C. is a lot more that 15 minutes from where I am so I'll have to pass.
Talk to Skalite, he's a D.C. boy.
EDIT: If we R%26amp;S regulars were to throw our own party, it would be so much better anyway. But I'm putting down my foot here and now and saying no strippers. Sorry, guys.
Reply:Why bother? It seems both sides want to be know-it-alls and Christians are not to debate anyone about their beliefs. Romans 1:29-32, Romans Chapter 2: 1-5, Psalm 2, Colossians 2:8. True Science is another issue and does compliment the Bible belief system.
Reply:Yeah, but I live 1000 miles away...
Reply:I’m bringing tomatoes. I can’t wait to meet the people at Yahoo who deleted all those questions.
Reply:I'd prolly get booted from that, too.
Reply:I think the Yahoo meet-and-greet is a joke... and there's room to seat only 50 people? (and half will be Yahoo personnel) haha
.. and I'm in New York (driving distance)
