does anyone know what i need to do? Thank you.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkhh.exe?
You have a very nasty problem.
Some time ago, a virus installed on your computer and infected this file. The antivirus found it and you deleted it. But notice something: it was in the system32 folder. There are located important files for your computer. Now that you deleted the virus, you also deleted the file...now your computer can't work properly because of that file.
Or maybe the virus caused the system to believe that was a important program. It seems that it ran at startup. Your operating system noticed that it doesn't run anymore and it alerted you.
There may be a part of it remained undeleted - in the registry. Go to Start-Run, type regedit and find the one linked to this "pmkhh" file. Get rid of it.
After that go to Start-Run, type msconfig. Click Startup. there will appear the programmes that run at startup. Check if there is any linked to the "pmkhh" file, if yes, uncheck it and click OK.
these are the only ideas I have.
Good luck!
Louise
Reply:Thanks for your appreciation. I hope the problem solved. :) Report It
Reply:Turn pc to safe mode with network and rescan for viruses, but first disable system restore. Simply restoring your pc to a day before will not remove this,it is a virus!
Reply:system restore to day before this started and all should be fine. good luck.
